Description

The LA240 Home Hearing Loop Pad System provides a practical solution for hearing aid users to listen more easily to their TV or Audio equipment.  Any hearing aid with the “T” or “Loop” program can access the hearing loop.

With no direct connection between the user and a TV or Audio equipment, the user is able to listen comfortably without distraction.

The Loop system picks up the sound from a TV via a direct connection or microphone. This is fed to the amplifier and then passed to the loop pad using the provided loop cable.  The loop pad in turn transmits the sound inductively to a hearing aid with the loop facility.

The user may then adjust the loop volume or tone to suit their own hearing preference without affecting others.

Please Note: The LA240 Home Hearing Loop Pad System is supplied with a Loop Pad.  If Loop Cable is required, please see the LA240 Home Hearing Loop System (135-250).

The LA240 Loop Pad System creates a smaller localised loop directly where the pad is placed.  Ie. Place the pad under the cushion of the chair you always sit in.  A Loop Pad is an alternative to loop cable and creates a localised or portable system.  Firstly, this means that no installation is required of loop cable around the room.  Secondly, this avoids interference with other systems and can provide confidentiality when required.

This kit comes with the loop pad and 5 meters of loop cable to connect to the pad.

  • Single turn loop cable. The system supplied with 40m (130ft) 24/0.2mm (0.75mm2) single core PVC insulated cable. Min cable length 11m = 0.5 Ohms

FAQ

How close do I need to be to the loop pad?

The loop pad system creates a field of approximately 1m2.  Usually the pad would be positioned under the chair seat cushion or back cushion.  It could be placed on the floor under the chair but obviously the further away the pad is to the person, the weaker the signal gets.

 

Can the control box be connected to a Hi Fi amplifier as well as a TV?

Yes.  It can connect to them both at the same time. You simply select the audio input you wish to listen to on the LA240 unit menu.

The Digital Audio Optical TOSlink cable supplied would be used to connect to the TV.  It is also supplied with a 1.2m Stereo Phono-Phono lead and a 3.5mm jack plug adaptor which would be used for Hi-fi system.

 

Does the pad have to be within 5m of the control box?

Yes – the length of loop cable supplied is 5m.
