Audio Commentary Equipment

The ideal solution for blind and partially sighted supporters, is the provision of “audio-description”.

Audio Commentary Equipment can give a continuous and live commentary of the on-pitch action.  Provided by a commentator specifically trained in describing events for those unable to see them clearly.

The Phonak Audio Commentary System is recommended for use in stadiums and arenas as an integral solution for not only visually impaired individuals but also those who are hard of hearing.  It will take the audio from the commentary team and deliver it straight into the ears of those who need it.

How does it work?

The system comprises of a Basestation transmitter that sends the audio via radio frequency to neckloops worn by individuals.  A set of headphones can be connected directly to the neckloop receiver to assist those who are visually impaired. In addition, the neckloop receiver can also wirelessly connect the users hearing aid via the “T-Coil” setting.  Only those wearing the neckloop will be able to access the commentary facility.  This therefore allows you to provide a system for those who are visually impaired, hearing impaired, or visually and hearing impaired, giving a comprehensive accessibility solution.

Roger Basestation

The Roger Basestation has a transmission range of up to 40 meters open air which can be boosted by the use of strategically placed repeaters to increase coverage.  This can allow those who require the assistance unrestricted seating options.  Whether it be with their friends and family or among their own club’s supporters, rather than in a designated area.

Increased Accessibility

The receiver units can also be utilised as part of a hearing loop system within any meeting rooms/conference suites/exhibition areas simply by adding a Roger Microphone, thus furthermore increasing the accessibility of the stadium by covering additional areas requiring compliance.
