How does the system work?
The Roger Touchscreen Mic, Multimedia Hub, and Passaround mic are connected to create a Roger Network. They send the audio via radio frequency to the Soundfield Digimaster loudspeaker and neckloop receivers worn by those who are hard of hearing. The loop around the neck creates the hearing or “induction’ loop. This loop creates an electromagnetic field that is picked up by the t-coil in the hearing aid. The hearing aid then converts this back into speech sound for the user to hear.
Microphones
The Roger Touchscreen Mic 3 is a lanyard-style microphone designed for session leaders, facilitators, or meeting chairs, ensuring their voice is heard clearly throughout the room. As the primary microphone, it enables effective meeting control and features an easily accessible mute button for convenience.
It supports an unlimited number of Roger receivers and allows users with compatible Phonak hearing aids to connect directly, removing the need for neckloops ion some instances.
Pass-around microphones are provided for other participants, promoting inclusive and interactive discussions. A push-to-talk function ensures only one microphone is active at a time, reducing cross talk and maintaining a smooth flow of conversation. Additionally, voice activation enables hands-free use by automatically turning the microphone on when speech is detected.
Digimaster Loudspeaker
This advanced Soundfield loudspeaker, featuring 15 high-quality individual speakers, is designed to enhance speech clarity and is classed as an assistive listening system in its own right. It intelligently analyses speech from the Roger microphones alongside ambient noise in the environment. Thus making real-time adjustments to maintain an optimal signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The system uses beamforming technology to distribute sound evenly across the room, improving speech clarity for both hearing-impaired and non-hearing-impaired users.
Media Audio & Remote Meetings
The Roger Multi Media Hub can be connected to any multimedia device. This can range from smartboards and TVs to computers and videos.
When the Roger Multimedia Hub is used in a network with the Touchscreen Microphone, the new audio mixing feature allows the presenters voice to be heard simultaneously with an audio signal.
Using a multimedia hub with a neckloop receiver, the system can also connect to a laptop. This allows audio from the room to be sent to remote participants on calls, while audio from the call is played back through the Roger loudspeakers and neckloop receivers.
Neckloop Receiver
The Roger NeckLoop is a universal receiver compatible with any hearing aid or cochlear implant with a T-coil. It is worn around the neck on a detachable induction loop and gives access to the complete Roger microphone transmitter portfolio.
The neckloop is discreet, lightweight, easy to use and is accessible to any hearing aid with a Tcoil. It can even be tucked under clothing if desired!
For those who are hard or hearing and don’t wear a hearing aid, the neckloop also offers headphone connection.
Charging & Storage
The Roger microphones and receivers are stored in a lightweight, durable aluminium charging case, allowing all units to charge from a single plug socket. The DigiMaster loudspeaker includes an adjustable tripod stand and storage bag, optimising portability of the system.
The portable design enables use in any room or building. If council meetings are held in different locations, transportation is effortless as all equipment fits neatly into one case and one loudspeaker bag. Both setup and pack-away time only takes a few minutes. It can be easily adapted to different room configurations, allowing for transport and use in alternative locations.
