Description

The AKW2/L Place of Worship Hearing Loop Kit (lavalier mic version) is ideal for creating a high quality induction loop system for a place of worship up to 200m2 and includes everything you would need to install the system*.

*With the exception of loop cable selectable as a separate item.

The AKW2/L Place of Worship Hearing Loop Kit includes a PDA200E hearing loop amplifier, AMR/LA lavalier radio microphone, APL outreach plate, APXL outreach plate, APXM outreach plate (for use with existing mics), AL5 Lead and 2 x 6m Belden cable. It also includes a “Loop Fitted” sticker so that anyone using the room is aware that they can connect to a hearing loop.

How does it work?

The loop cable connects to the amplifier and should be run around the perimeter of the room.  This is required at either at skirting level (or under carpet tiles) or ceiling ( in floating ceiling), but normally within the range of 2-3 meters off ground, no higher.

The Lavalier microphone is a portable radio mic consisting of an AMT tie clip mic that plugs into a receiver. Accordingly, this then sits in the base station transmitter to charge while not in use.  The base station connects to the APXL XLR outreach plate using the supplied AL5 Lead.  In turn, the APXL outreach plate connects to the amplifier using the supplied belden cable.  The included APXM outreach plate can be used to connect existing microphones, while the APL outreach plate can be used to connect audio sources such as TV’s or projectors.

The loop amplifier transforms the audio signal into an electric current in a loop cable surrounding the listening area. Subsequently, the loop current sets up a magnetic field which fluctuates with the audio.  When the hearing aid is switched on to the T-setting, the T-coil will pick up the signal from the magnetic field and convert it back into audible sound. This means sound is clear and crisp and tailored for the individual’s hearing loss.

Anyone wearing a hearing aid with the T-coil setting could connect to the hearing loop.
